Title:
Shrouded mountains by Ben Gavelda

Italy’s Dolomites are some of the world’s most unique mountains. In fact the word dolomite takes its name from the carbonate rock dolomite. I captured this peak being swallowed by clouds near Cortina D’Ampezzo.

 Location: Cortina D’Ampezzo, Italy. 2013.

About Ben Gavelda:

A blizzard at dawn, fading light on a lonely single track trail, a 14-hour drive and negative twenty temps. These are some of the situations Ben often finds himself in as he pursues snowboarding, mountain biking and related outdoor pursuits as a freelance writer and photographer. When he’s not out on an adventure he’s woodworking, wrenching on vehicles or picking up random photo and construction gigs to get by. To see more of Ben's work click here.
