This is L.A. traffic on my way to Transworld. Actually, this is pretty much L.A., period. Loving it.

This is Jake Olson-Elm, lookin at some dude who just got broken in by the Transworld park.

This is Mike Hakker, Claudia, and June Bhongjan, talkin the talk. Mike and I got into a twins conversation and he told me that he was the “Master Copy” and Lance was the “Leftovers”, which is why their names start with “M” and “L” respectively.

This is Lance “Leftovers” Hakker, talkin the talk, on his phone, all alone.

This is the free-drink crowd, appropriately gathered near the free-drink bar.

This is Claudia, “Master Copy”, and June, posing the pose.

This is Episode, with an armful of free stuff from somewhere.

This is Mrs. Manfredi and Ms. Alcazar raising the girl/guy ratio. Too bad they’re both already taken by handsome men.

This is what a skatepark looks like when you turn it into a theater.

This is what Jake Kuzyk looks like inside that theater.

This is snowboarding’s video power couple.

This is a terrible photo of Transworld’s go-to guy John, and he was way more stoked on the movie than you could ever hope to be.

And this is another 5 Trick fix including a couple Jake Kuzyk shots that didn’t make the movie.

And this is the end of this blog post.

Went to a Nike party last night for Bo Jackson and it was ridiculous, well, funny and ridiculous. Don’t know if it’s because I’m not really into sports, or because I’m not really into a room full of people that all think they’re way too important, but it just wasn’t really my kind of vibe. So my girlfriend and I get there and the majority of people in line outside looked like they were going to prom. Once inside, we were surrounded by one of the largest gathering of “Jerry Maguires” and PRO-ho’s I’ve seen in one place. I capitalized the “PRO” in pro-ho’s, because these weren’t your typical skate/snow/music ho’s. These were athlete ho’s, on a whole different level, lookin for that “player’s wife” lifestyle.

Anyway, being a Nike party, there was no skimping on the layout, food, or drinks.

Everything was free, of course, and the bartenders weren’t even allowed to take tips.

Peanut Butter Wolf was playing a late 80’s/early 90’s era music video set…………

before Bo Jackson was honored as “The Godfather Of Cross Training”, haha…………….

then Z-Trip took over with a Nike-inspired set.

I heard more than a few people pitching each other “perfect deals” and “great opportunities”, but what kept catching my attention was the appetizers they were passing around. Not that I was eating any of them, but lemme give you a little sample of what I was seeing every few minutes.
Ok, we’ve got some sushi here, pretty standard……

Oh hello sir, would you like some fancy bread topped with oily vegetables and cheeses?……..

…no? How about a lamb chop? Yeah, that’s right, a lamb chop.

My camera blew it on this one, but I’m sure it was some type of endangered eel or something.

Oh word, Ice cream, I can get down with that……

Um no sir, that’s tuna tartar,……in a waffle cone,…….yup.

Hometown Heroes is underway and we’re an official sponsor. With a focus on giving ams exposure on a larger scale, we felt it was a perfect series for us to get involved with. Hometown Heroes is the #1 am contest series. Why? It’s all about fun and offers a chance for a trip to the finals at X-Games when you win the regional contest.

Just a reminder. Get there.

We got together with Cowtown Skatebaords to produce a limited run of beanies for the 9th Annual PHXAM. Over the past 8 years the PHXAM has become a proving grounds for top ams from around the globe and will be going down once again this Saturday and Sunday, April 10th and 11th.

Cowtown

Instead of running a piece wth a huge PHXAM logo, we decided to go with something better for everyday wear. So we put together a simple ribbed-knit style beanie with a loop label that allows you to wear it with the cuff up or down. And of course black works with everything, so get one while you can and be sure to stop by the Elm tent this weekend and say what’s up.

Come hang out this Thursday night at Mt. High for a night of music, contests, and giveaways. At the very least you’ll get to see a bunch of drunk college kids get broke off night shredding.
